Neringa Naujokaite. BLACK WHITE GREY
For the second time, gallery „Meno parkas“ will participate at Dusseldorf Photo Weekend, the event which is held annually and for the eight time this year, on 8-10 of March. Private view of exhibition by Neringa Naujokaite will be held on 8th of March, at 7pm (local time) and will be open until 13th of April.
For the eight edition of the Duesseldorf Photo Weekend, more than 50 institutions, galleries and off-spaces will be presenting a wide-ranging program around the medium of photography.
Current trends in contemporary photography, questions concerning the change in meaning of visual culture and society, are here reflected in photography and its cultural history. In this context gallery „Meno parkas“ will show Neringa Naujokaite's project "Schwarz Weiß Grau" (EN: "Black White Grey").
In focus of the photo series "Black White Grey" is an authentic apartment of the 30s in Kaunas at restoration. The interplay of the clear architectural forms and lines with light result in the dynamics of black and white.
Neringa Naujokaite presents in parallel the video "un altro ... di vento, di cielo". The symmetrical, orthogonal video images of architecture at the interface to landscape appear like a rhythmical sequence of black and white stills. The images recorded from the central perspective partially merge into each other or they open up new architectural spaces, while the vocal sounds - electronically amplified and alienated - expand these spaces even further. The silent reality as the initial film situation works through the technical revision and acoustic background as a backdrop of the monumental stage set, in which the untouched natural or architectural landscapes appear alternately behind the slowly rising curtains.
Partner of the exhibition: "Gleixner Art"
